“To see kids continue to grow as individuals and have an opportunity to see their own potential is just so amazing. It motivates me to continue the work I do with them.” -Ian Mahinmi

Ian Mahinmi & his I AM Foundation are helping front line workers, small businesses, and those in need who have suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic. We need your support to help grant small businesses $1000 grants, feed homeless and say thank you to front line workers who have risked it all to help keep us safe.  Donate or Apply for Business Relief Grant by clicking on links below.

IAN MAHINMI

Ian Mahinmi was born on November 5, 1986, in Rouen, France, to a Beninese father who helped other Africans immigrate to France, and a Jamaican mother who taught preschool. Ian is a professional basketball player for the NBA Washington Wizards. The San Antonio Spurs originally drafted Ian in the 2005 NBA draft, with the 28th overall pick. He has also played for the Dallas Mavericks and Indiana Pacers.

Truly humbled and grateful for the opportunities that allowed his hard work to be recognized and the position he has now to help others, Ian wants to give back to the communities who mean the most to him. He is constantly inspired by the kids he works with. Traveling back to Benin, where his roots are, and France, where he grew up, Ian loves to see the way the kids enjoy life, provide for their families and follow their passions despite adversities. Ian wants to be able to provide them opportunities to reach their full potential as athletes and community members.
